St. John's Medical Center Board of Trustees
Voters will select three of seven candidates for open positions on the seven-member St. John's Medical Center Board of Trustees. Each will serve four-year terms.

The candidates are consultant Bill Best, incumbent John Cardis, Dr. Bruce Hayse, real estate broker Herb Hazen, Dr. Emmy Knobloch, former hospital attorney Peter Moyer and Community Resource Center Executive Director Smokey Rhea.

Trustees help decide the future of the tax-supported community hospital. They set long-term goals for hospital staff and operations. They also determine county residents' health needs and what services St. John's should provide to meet those needs.

Top issues in the race include switching to a private governing board and recent hospital real estate actions.
